How To Commute To Tagaytay From Calamba
Looking to visit the stunning views and fresh air of Tagaytay? Getting there from Calamba by public transportation is easy and convenient.
The quickest option is to take a Van directly from the SM Calamba PUJ terminal to Tagaytay. Vans leave regularly for the one hour journey and will drop you off at Tagaytay Market. Fares usually run about 150 pesos one way.
To locate the van terminal, when facing the main entrance of SM Calamba, turn left and walk until you see the Starbucks. The van terminal is located right in front of Starbucks. Ask the dispatchers or drivers which van is heading to Tagaytay.
What to expect when taking the van:
- Expect to wait 15–30 minutes before the van departs as the driver fills seats
- The ride may be cramped but has comfortable air conditioning
- total travel time is just over an hour once the van gets moving
- Note that the last van usually leaves around 8 p.m.; after that, there may not be any vans available
If direct vans are not available, you can take a jeepney from SM Calamba to Balibago Complex Terminal. From there, ride another jeepney heading to Tagaytay Market. The journey may take slightly longer with the jeepney transfers, but it is still manageable.
When facing the main entrance of SM Calamba, turn left and walk until you see the Starbucks.
Alternatively, you can catch a jeepney heading to Balibago Complex on the other side of the highway, in front of the main entrance of SM Calamba Mall. From either starting point, you’ll transfer jeepneys in Balibago Terminal to reach Tagaytay.
What to expect when taking jeepneys:
- The trip duration is longer as the jeepneys take non-direct routes and make multiple stops
- Expect that the jeepneys will stop to pick up additional passengers along the way
- Fares are cheaper compared to the vans, only around 50-70 pesos each way
- There is no air conditioning, but you’ll get fresh air as some sections in the jeepneys are open to the elements
Once you arrive in Tagaytay, famous spots like Picnic Grove, People’s Park, Sky Ranch amusement park, and restaurants with a view are just short jeepney or tricycle rides away. Just tell the driver your intended location. For the return trip, vans and jeepneys to Calamba regularly pick up passengers from the Tagaytay public transportation terminal as well.
